On November 25, some of the areas finest musicians will present Duke Ellington’s Nutcracker Suite. For 60 years, Duke Ellington and his orchestra were at the center of American music. When he looked at the Nutcracker's music, something new and wonderful was in the offing. The dances in The Nutcracker are well known and beloved. The gift of Jazz is taking well know tunes and making them something new.

The Nutcracker is part of our offering. Thirty years ago big bands were an integral part of the American music scene. From a White Christmas to A Winter Wonderland the music of the big band created an enchanted time. Every band had their signature arrangements of seasonal standards. We will include contemporary arrangements of well know tunes. Keep your ears open—and, if you feel so inspired, dance.
